Hard Rock and Halsey Celebrate Love and Diversity for Pride Month
Hard Rock International has launched its “LOVE OUT LOUD” campaign for Pride Month which features a range of merchandise and activations in support of the LGBT+ community. In addition, Hard Rock Heals Foundation, the company’s charity division, will work with other organizations and non-profits to benefit the LGBT+ communities and Hard Rock will donate $250,000 to the Human Right Campaign and Outright International. The casino and bar chain has also collaborated with the artist Halsey, who has designed two co-branded Hard Rock x Halsey Signature Series Pride Edition T-shirts and will perform a private gig at Hard Rock Café London Old Park Lane before embarking on a series of Halsey with String Ensemble Hard Rock Live shows at several Hard Rock venues. Hard Rock will also sponsor several Pride parades and its cafes and hotels around the world will promote Pride Month with a variety of live performances, Pride-themed menus and customized playlists, while Hard Rock Hotel properties will create curated suites, promotional menus, Pride playlists and LGBTQ+ fundraisers.
As a brand that is associated with the rock and roll lifestyle, Hard Rock International is closely identified with self-expression, freedom and inclusivity. For its hotels, casinos, and cafes around the world, this means creating a welcoming space for all individuals, regardless of their gender, race, or sexual identity. By working with organizations like The Human Rights Campaign and Outright International, Hard Rock has been able to create a meaningful impact for the LGBT+ community on a global scale.
Hard Rock has also recognized the importance of partnering with influential creatives, like Halsey, to broaden its reach and enable the brand to connect with new audiences. The singer’s design collaboration with Hard Rock, and her performances for Pride Month, provides a platform for the company to advocate for LGBT+ rights through music and fashion, demonstrating a cultural awareness and sensitivity for the LGBT+ community.
Editor’s note: It is encouraging to see large brands like Hard Rock International advocate for the LGBT+ community and actively promote inclusivity. By supporting non-profit organisations and creating Pride-themed merchandise and activations, the company is demonstrating its commitment to diversity and inclusion. However, it is important to remember that Pride Month is not just about the commercialization of the rainbow flag, but about raising awareness of, and support for, the rights and freedoms of the LGBT+ community. We hope, therefore, that Hard Rock will continue to engage with, and support, LGBT+ causes outside of this campaign, to maintain its commitment to diversity and inclusion year-round.
